Seminar from Dr. Jess Symons:
- In this session, Dr Jessica Symons, Director of Visioning Lab, put the past 150 years of written and screen-based communication into its 2D context to argue that the emergence of 3D worlds is returning humans to traditional forms of engagement and interaction.
- She also considered how the convergence of sectors into immersive / AR / VR compares with the early days of the internet.
- Participants were invited to a preview of the new online performance space, Solstice, to be launched at the October Chorlton Arts Festival and to consider this argument through the real-life experience of a newly conceived 3D world.
